Round 3 & State Champs - Blue Gum Lodge - WSMTB
yet another great track and another great round. 140+ riders turned out for a chance to ride a track not often open to the public at Blue Gum Lodge. Oh yeah and it was the State XC Championships. Western Sydney MTB Club hosted the State XC Champs with sponsors BMC and Rocky Trails entertainment. This was also round 3 of the X-Fusion State XC series. As with previous rounds there were strong fields in most categories, again notably the junior and masters classes. The track was short and intense with very little room for rest but a very grippy surface in most areas which made for some really fast singletrack action. Thanks to Erica, Big Dog, Rob and all the other WSMTB crew that made the event work. Big thanks to Erica who after a big couple of days (and more I suspect) managed to get the results up before the day was out. Congratulation to the State Champions, Hamish Elliot and Jenny Fay.

Round 2 - Ourimbah - CCOMTB
and yet another great round. At 146 riders on the day, the biggest State round in 6 years. Everyone was talking about how great the track was, even before the racing started and after racing.. more enthusiastic reports. Central Coast Ourimbah MTB Club (CCOMTB) have hosted many great events at this track and this was no exception. Thanks to Peter, Tracy, Tim, Theresa and all the other club members who made it all work on the day. Tim Doman won the online entry prize and now has some X-Fusion gear and a free entry to one of the remaining rounds. More reports and results soon. Club results will be updated once the results are confirmed. It will be interesting to see how hat goes with many local riders turning out for COMTB but also a strong contingent from all the clubs leading the point score. Check out Kath Bicknells take on the day, go to the Rotorburn thread to check it out and maybe have your say. Elite Men | |

Round 1 - Fitzroy Falls - SHCC
Southerh Highlands Cycling Club hosted round 1 at Fitzroy Falls. The day started with a light frost and it was still very cool when the Elite and Expert fields started at 9am, but by the time the juniors were off just after 11 it had settled to a warm and sunny Southern Highlands day. So by the time our categories started conditions were perfect. Many thanks go to the round sponsors and land owners, the McGees. Rod, Craig and family were doing a lot of last minute gardening to have the track ready for event but it was definitely worth it. Craig Armour and his team did an excellent with SHCC running another great event, which saw more riders on track than we have seen for some years. To make sure the club trophy results are accurate please make sure that your club is listed correctly in the results.
